Boards Tested

I have tested the new PC boards together with the latest firmware and all functions work. There were a couple of errors in wiring but they could all be corrected in the firmware. This means that it will actually  be possible for others to build these machines. Copying the existing design together with a functioning allows others to duplicate exactly what I have working or to modify the mechanical design to suit their needs and capabilities.

I have also redesigned a few of the custom made components to make them easier to fabficate.

The next step is to work on providing ready made parts for those who do not have the tools and or skills to fabricate them. I can make all the parts myself but it takes a lot of time to make them without using volume production methods.

I also need to provide more detailed information especially regarding the wiring details. I will soon be receiving new limit switches that will simplify this aspect of the wiring. I have a number of the parts required in stock so can provide the things that would be difficult to buy in small quantities.

After the first few people have successfully built machines, I will be in a better position to know exactly what instructions, support and parts are needed for the average builder.

Please contact me again if you are one of the few who think that you can build one of these machines with limited support and ready made parts. The basics are definitely working and this thing is ready to share. The feedback from the first few builders will be very useful in developing the documentation for others and to determine what range of ready made parts should be made available. My eventual goal is to provide any or all of the custom parts depending on what each builder needs. I am not interested in retailing parts that can be obtained through regular channels as indicated in the tentative parts list. The current list can be downloaded from the following. I have made some changes since the last posting

I am not offering to Beta test as I think I would be too slow building and good, quick feedback will be needed.
But this is a great project that is so nearly there.
